Role Description
Ø Meets with the patient prior to the procedure to evaluate the patient’s condition and review their medical history.
Ø Explains the process so the patient knows what to expect.
Ø Monitors patient’s vital signs and comfort and makes the appropriate adjustments in anesthesia.
Ø Continues to monitor patients’ vitals and may be involved in management of pain.
Ø Administering anesthesia through spinal, intravenous, caudal or local methods.
Ø Determine when patient stabilized enough to be moved after an operation.
Ø Working with surgeons during the operation to administer anesthetics in a manner that won’t disrupt the procedure.
Ø Confer with other medical professionals to determine type and method of anesthetic or sedation to render patient insensible to pain.
Ø Examine patient, obtain medical history and use diagnostic tests to determine risk during surgical, obstetrical and other medical procedures.
Ø Monitor patients before, during and after anesthesia and counteract adverse reactions or complications.
Qualifications
Anesthesiology, Medicine, and Surgery skills
Critical Care Nursing and Pain Management skills
Experience in administering anesthesia during surgical procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
Board Certification in Anesthesiology
Valid Dubai Health Authority license
