Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Team.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assessing patient needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of a program of care which is evidence based utilizing all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, cares and significant others
  • Ensuring that all patients and their families feel cared for and cared about
  • Organize own workload to ensure that the interests of the patients are met
  • Maintain patient records in line with Hospital guidelines for records and record keeping
  • Work within the Health & Safety Guidelines and Procedures
  • Empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well-being and future lifestyle by practicing in an open transparent and inclusive manner, thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care
  • Assists in reviewing and developing new policies and procedures
  • Assist less experienced colleagues in planning, priority setting and decision making to ensure that they meet patient’s needs
  • May also act as link nurse for areas such as Education, Quality, Infection Control, Moving & Handling
  • Contribute to the provision of an appropriate learning environment
  • Act as a role model for less experienced members of staff by representing the values and beliefs of the nursing profession as well as that of the organization
  • Provide encouragement and motivation to members of the nursing team
  • Take account of the role and competency of staff when delegating work
  • Participate in personal development planning and formal/informal appraisal of junior nursing staff and student nurses
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the nursing philosophy and objectives of the team
  • Continue to develop leadership skills and provide leadership when required
  • Contributes to and influences practice development within the clinical area

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing program of a minimum duration of three (3) years or Bachelor degree in Nursing
  • Current valid registration in country of training and or country of last employment Desirable
  • 4-5 years of experience in a hospital set - up
