Skills and Qualifications :
Certified Coder and strong familiarity with ICD codes and procedures
Preferably with UAE experience in an Outpatient set-up
Attention to details and strong knowledge of medical terminology
Commitment to a high level of customer service and a solid oral and written communication skills
Able to work independently
Description
Analyzes and extracts relevant information from patient medical records, identifies documentation deficiencies, reviews, and verifies documentation that supports diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results.
Assigns codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes.
Ensures codes are accurate, active, and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations.
Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to the medical and billing team, with regard to coding.
Searches for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual.
Liaises and communicates with physicians and other parties to clarify & follow up on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear.
