Job Description
We seek a dynamic and experienced Lead Compound Pharmacist to oversee our compounding operations and ensure the highest patient care and safety standards. The Lead Compound Pharmacist will supervise the compounding team, develop compounding protocols, and collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver customized medications that meet individual patient needs.
Requirements
Compounding Leadership:
- Provide leadership and direction to the compounding team, including training, guidance, and performance management.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for compounding to ensure consistent and accurate practices.
- Implement best practices and stay informed about advancements in compounding techniques.
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality control measures to ensure accurate compounding, ingredient integrity, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of compounding areas to maintain a clean and compliant environment.
- Monitor and address any issues related to contamination, equipment maintenance, or safety concerns.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with physicians, prescribers, and healthcare providers to understand patient needs and tailor medications accordingly.
- Serve as a compounding resource to the healthcare team, providing expertise on compounding solutions and alternatives.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage the compounding team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Schedule and assign tasks, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal resource allocation.
- Conduct performance evaluations, mentorship, and ongoing training to enhance team skills.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all DHA regulations governing compounding practices.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and adapt practices accordingly to maintain compliance.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate records of compounding procedures, batch records, ingredient sourcing, and patient-specific compounding details.
- Facilitate timely documentation of adverse events or concerns related to compounded medications.
