Assist the head chef or sous chef in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment

Cooking and Assembly:
- Assist in cooking and assembling menu items, such as appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts. Operate cooking equipment, such as stovetops, grills, ovens, and fryers, following established procedures. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked to perfection.
- Plating and Presentation: Plate dishes attractively and ensure they meet the restaurant's presentation standards. Garnish dishes with appropriate condiments and decorative elements. Maintain portion control to minimize waste and ensure consistency.
- Kitchen Organization: Keep the kitchen workspace clean and organized. Maintain an inventory of ingredients, including restocking as needed. Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food and supplies.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Follow food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients. Maintain personal hygiene, including wearing appropriate attire and following handwashing and sanitation guidelines. Proven experience as a Continental Chef or similar role, typically with several years of culinary experience.
- Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, and fellow cooks. Assist in coordinating food orders and timing with the rest of the kitchen team.
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school or related training is a plus. Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook is beneficial.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to follow recipes and cooking techniques accurately.
Physical stamina for standing for extended periods, lifting heavy pots and pans, and working in a hot kitchen environment.
Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
