Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers
Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
Keep an eye out for needed updates
Support and administer third-party applications
Ensure network security and connectivity
Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
Resolve problems reported by end user
Define network policies and procedures
Specify system requirements and design solutions
Research and make recommendations on server system administration
Proven experience in a network administrator role
Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
Ability to set up and configure server hardware
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
Ensures that appropriate IT teams are monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating performance and working on resolution of identified degradation trends and problem areas (Performance Management).
Assist with IT staffing and budgeting projections on a company-wide basis.
Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions, and major modifications to the supporting our infrastructure.
Implements network security at the corporate level as established by corporate Security Director.
Serves as focal point for all inter-office IT-related matters in our exchange.
Recognizes necessary network improvements and makes suggestions to management.
Plans, manages, and develops upgrades to core servers and network systems on a company-wide basis.
Makes recommendations to management regarding company-wide system upgrades; executes upgrades as directed by management.
Helps decide, in conjunction with corporate leadership, which software and hardware products and other equipment are most suited for use within our infrastructure.
Oversees IT-related asset purchases on a company-wide basis.
Manages software licenses on a company-wide basis.
Serves as key participant in team meetings.
Raises the company's visibility through involvement in local industry organizations.
Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to management and peers in other practices.
