Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Language Teacher to join our educational institution. As a Spanish teacher, you will be responsible for creating engaging and effective lesson plans, delivering dynamic classroom instruction, and fostering a supportive learning environment for students of varying proficiency levels. Your duties will include teaching Spanish grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and culture through a variety of interactive activities and materials. Additionally, you will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall language learning experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives and cater to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive Spanish language instruction using a variety of teaching methods and resources.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to language learning and cultural exploration.
  • Assess student performance through quizzes, tests, projects, and other assessment tools, and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary learning experiences and integrate technology into language instruction.
  • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in language teaching and participate in professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, Linguistics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish language and culture at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
  • Strong understanding of language acquisition theories, teaching methodologies, and instructional strategies.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students and create a supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents/guardians.
  • Knowledge of assessment practices and the ability to use assessment data to inform instruction and support student learning.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources for language teaching and learning.
  • Certification or licensure in teaching Spanish (if required by state or institution).
  • Commitment to professional growth, reflective practice, and cultural competence.
