Complete a brief admission examination on each patient when appropriate and document clinical findings.
Responsible for reassessment of all patients at least once, or more times as the clinical condition warrants, and document in the progress notes in SOAP format.
Provide a 24-hour medical service for inpatient in ward.
Inform admitting consultants of changes in medical condition of patients and of relevant action taken.
Follow the instructions of consultants for their specific regime for each individual patient.
Initiate and alter in-patient prescriptions at consultant’s request.
Write up “to take home prescriptions” for patients as required.
Visit all in-patients daily and document in clinical notes.
To assist consultant/specialist in order to get insurance approval for inpatient.
Visit patients as required at the request of the nursing staff.
To be familiar with all relevant procedures/policies.
To be familiar with centre and company clinical policies. To be aware of the centers’ clinical risk program and report clinical incidents, drug errors and near misses.
To participate in clinical audit.
To be completely familiar with emergency equipment.
To provide a full report to Resident Medical Officer commencing thenext shift.
To be a part of code blue team in the inpatient ward.
Dress code as per company policy.
Administratively responsible to the Hospital administrator.
Professionally responsible to the Medical administrator/Medical Director.
Liaises closely with nursing staff and other relevant clinical or administrative staff.
Orders diagnostic laboratory and X-ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribing applicable therapy and taking the necessary preventive medicine.
Reviews journals and textbooks in order to keep current on latest techniques, procedures and therapy.
Participates in continuing in-service training programmes, physician’s conferences, etc.
Participates in the monthly staff meeting of the Internal Medicine Service Division.
Responsible for the proper practice of infection control guidelines in all clinical areas.
Keeps current with emergency techniques as they emerge and evolve.
Attends staff meetings and weekly rounds and participates in in-service activities as required, i.e., Morbidity & Mortality conferences, Peer Reviews, etc.
Evidences dependability in carrying out the commitments and obligations of the position.
Demonstrates the ability to listen to others in promoting effective communication.
Develops thorough understanding of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates respect for them.

QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an approved Medical School
1 year of Internship
1 year residency training in a recognized residency training program.
1 years of experience as a General Practitioner.
Must have a thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with particular reference to the obligation to maintain the confidentiality of his work; personality which inspires confidence and trust in his patients; and adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Organization.
Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
ACLS certified.
Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with co-workers, superiors, patients & families.
