Job Description
An ideal candidate for the above role at FITT Cafe needs to be passionate about their role and genuinely be excited to work in the kitchen/cafe. Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section. Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare mise en place and food preparation in the kitchen.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report any issues to superiors.
- Continually develop culinary knowledge to produce high-quality meals.
- Measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings.
- Assess inventory and request resupply when necessary.
- Dispose of spoiled items and adhere to sanitation policies.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in a kitchen environment
- Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks
- Able to supervise and take charge when needed
- Daily and weekly reporting
- Provide input on menu development
Work experience
- Preferably at least 1 years of UAE experience as a CDP
Educational qualifications
- High school education or a Diploma in Hospitality or culinary certification.
- Hospitality certificate from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
Essential skills, Abilities & competencies required.
- Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations
- Fluent in ENGLISH
- Team Player
- Must be able to stand and work for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
