Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, driven Civil/Architectural Inspector with a wealth of industry knowledge in consultant office. The Civil/Architectural Inspector will assist the Resident Engineer in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project. The Civil/ Architectural Inspector will participate in review and approval of all submittals by the contractors and involves in the quality control and quality assurance.

Under the supervision of the project resident engineer, performs routine inspection monitoring tasks to confirm if proper construction supervision is being performed by others. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Document non-conformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.

Any applications without consultant office experience will be ignored.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in performing the contractual duties on site.
  • Oversee and inspect all civil & Architectural work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
  • Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitors it for improvement.
  • Performs works inspection requests and material inspection requests on a daily basis.
  • Support the Civil/ Architectural Engineer in reviewing construction submittals from project inception to close-out.
  • Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities.
  • Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
  • Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
  • Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions to ensure progress on site.
  • Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
  • Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
  • Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
  • Initiates and maintains records, back charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.
  • Follow-up with the contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

To be successful in this role, you will posses:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Min of 5 years postgraduate experience on large scale projects in consultant office. Any applications without consultant office experience will be ignored.
  • AutoCAD & Other software packages is an advantage.
  • Regional experience.
  • DDA & DM registration is preferred.
  • A professional who can manage and coordinate specialized activity, discipline or team of moderate size and complexity.
  • Pro-active in resolving issues.
  • Good communication skills & relationship building.
  • Preference to immediately available candidates.
