Full job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Finance Controller to oversee and manage all financial aspects of our 5-star hotel. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with extensive experience in the hospitality sector. Experience working in Angola or Congo will be considered an added advantage, bringing valuable insight into the region’s financial and regulatory landscape. The role requires leadership in financial planning, budgeting, cost management, and reporting to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management:
• Lead the financial operations of the hotel, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial data and reporting to the senior management and stakeholders.
• Implement effective internal controls to safeguard the hotel’s assets and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Develop and manage the hotel’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Prepare and monitor the annual operating budget in coordination with department heads.
• Analyze financial variances and trends to recommend cost-saving measures and business improvements.
• Compliance & Auditing:
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, hotel accounting standards, and corporate guidelines.
• Oversee both internal and external audits, ensuring the accuracy and transparency of financial records.
• Cost Control & Revenue Maximization:
• Implement cost control procedures to maximize profitability.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify opportunities for improving revenue generation and reducing operational costs.
• Team Leadership:
• Manage and mentor the hotel’s finance team, ensuring professional growth and development.
• Foster a collaborative work environment, supporting cross-departmental initiatives to enhance the hotel’s performance.
• Risk Management:
• Identify and manage financial risks, including currency exchange rates, taxation issues, and market volatility in regions like Angola and Congo.
• Ensure robust insurance and risk mitigation strategies are in place to safeguard the hotel’s assets.

Key Requirements:

• Education:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly preferred.
• A master’s degree in finance or a related field is an added advantage.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial management within the hospitality industry, preferably in luxury or 5-star hotels.
• Experience in working within Angola or Congo markets is an added advantage.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of hotel financial systems and processes.
• Expertise in accounting software and financial reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of local and international financial regulations and tax laws.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED14,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
