Position: General Accountant
Job Location: Abu Dhabi
Job summary:
To support the organization by ensuring that all financial records and reporting are up to standard, updated and maintained regularly in compliance with policies and procedures. The position is also responsible for working with third parties, like banks or auditors and other stakeholders to keep business finances on track.
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial management and reporting
· Manage all accounting transactions
· Prepare budget and cash flow forecasts
· Timely publish financial statements (balance sheets, profit & loss statements and cash flows), financial health and liquidity (ratios and analysis)
· Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting
· Reconcile subsidiary ledger with general ledger
· Timely generation of AP and AR Aging (Follow up with customer for the pending collections and reconciliation of customer account)
· Managing payments accordingly
· Maintain fixed asset registry and roll-forward, conduct asset count or tagging
· Keeping track of prepayments, accruals and other balance sheet accounts
Pricing and Proposals
· Assists in preparation of pricing model and project proposal feasibility
· Provide support for the sales team for required costing analysis
Tax, Audit, ERP
· Compute taxes and prepare VAT returns
· Corporate tax implementation and filing of returns
· Support ERP implementation
· Streamline processes through system automation and implementing controls
· Manage internal and external audit
Others
· Compliance with DOA and Company’s policies and regulations
· Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
· Demonstrate efficient teamwork and contribute to the achievement of business goals
· Any additional duties and tasks assigned by your supervisors that are required for the smooth running of your department
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
· Professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are advantageous
· Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in the same field, proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, preferably in Hospitality or Real Estate in the UAE
· Strong knowledge of accounting software. Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel) for financial analysis and reporting
· Excellent analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail. Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights
· High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Adherence to accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and policies in line with Abu Dhabi's legal and ethical standards
