Job Description:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Procurement Officer. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for day-to-day procurement tasks, including generating purchase orders, negotiating contracts, and purchasing materials. This role is located in Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Vendor Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure advantageous agreements.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
Procurement Process:
- Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings.
Contract Management:
- Draft and review contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Monitor contract performance and resolve issues as they arise.
- Maintain a comprehensive contract database.
Quotation Management:
- Send inquiries, receive quotations, and prepare Quotation Comparison Statements for both local and imported items.
- Engage in negotiations and place Purchase Orders with suppliers worldwide.
Compliance:
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions.
- Generate regular reports on procurement activities and expenses.
- Assist in preparing reports for internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three 3 - 5 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer
- Experience in generating purchase orders and negotiating contracts
- Strong analytical skills
- Procurement and Purchasing experience
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP MM
- Experience in the construction or industrial sector is a plus
