Exposure and experience in maritime communications
Have decent knowledge of RF & Satellite technologies – L Band, Ku Band, Ka Band, C Band, LEO, GEO, MEO satellite systems.
Have decent knowledge of Satellite based GMDSS systems.
Should have good knowledge of Add value services such as LRIT, SSAS, Charts and publications etc.
Should have expert knowledge in IT and distributions systems.
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a Sr. Technical Support, Network Specialist role.
CCNA, MCSA and MCTNA certification would be added advantage.
Certification such as GVF FE Engineer/Technician would be added advantage.
Valid UAE driving license will be an added advantage.
Job description:
Should be well versed with maritime communication technologies and support customers on various issues related to Ku-band, L-band terminals and vessel IT infrastructure.
To maintain knowledgebase of all equipment that is being installed on board in order to communicate with vendors, assist in trouble shoot, work with OEM’s technical support etc.
Should be capable of independently provide remote support to techs/customers during installs and trouble shooting.
Train Juniors and develop efficient processes to work smart.
To look into support emails and identify opportunities to upsell. This is one prime area that the manager has to concentrate.
Configuring, commissioning and handover of network management box/UTMs/Firewalls/Switches/Wifi Access Points based on customer requirement.
· Troubleshoot and resolve network issues
Adept in products such as Sophos, Cisco, Mikrotik, Peplink, Marpoint, Fortigate, Infinity, Grandstream.
Good domain Knowledge in IT and network concepts (TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, STP)
Conversant in maritime email solutions.
Conversant in cybersecurity, antivirus and endpoint security solutions.
Conversant in LRIT, SSAS, SAT-C systems
Conversant with VoIP and CCTV systems.
