Job Description:

The Housekeeping Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall guest satisfaction in the hotel's guest rooms and public areas. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a team of housekeeping staff.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping team, including room attendants, housemen, and laundry staff.
  • Assign duties and inspect work to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotel.
  • Train and develop housekeeping staff in cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and guest service standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, and coordinate with the purchasing department for timely replenishment.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new housekeeping team members.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Front Office and Maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and timely resolution of guest-related issues.
  • Report and follow up on maintenance requests and repairs needed within guest rooms or public areas.
  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of housekeeping policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping staff, recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance and addressing performance issues as necessary.

Desired Skill & Expertise:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Hospitality-related certification or degree is a plus).
  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in housekeeping management systems and related software.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
