Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our dynamic team in Dubai.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Server Management:
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot both Linux and Windows servers.
• Install, configure, and manage virtualization platforms such as VMware Esxi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Design, deploy, and maintain virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments using VMware Horizon for efficient desktop delivery and management.
• Configure and manage Horizon Connection Servers, Composer Servers, and other components of the VMware Horizon suite.
• Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud-based resources.
• Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for efficient software deployment, updates, and inventory management.
• Manage storage solutions including HPE MSA (Modular Smart Array), tape drives, and ensure optimal performance, capacity planning, and data integrity.
• Network Administration:
• Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
• User Account Management:
• Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts across various platforms.
• Expertise in Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy Objects (GPO) to maintain a secure and organized Windows environment.
• Familiarity with CIS (Center for Internet Security) benchmarks for security compliance and best practices implementation.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Establish and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Conduct regular backups, perform test restores, and ensure data integrity.
• Security and Patch Management:
• Implement security policies and protocols to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Keep systems up to date by applying patches and updates in a timely manner.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
• Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to proactively identify and address issues.
• Investigate and resolve technical incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
• Documentation:
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support various projects and initiatives.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other team members.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience

• Proven experience as a System Administrator in a mixed Linux and Windows environment.
• Minimum of 5 Years of hands-on experience in Linux and Windows server administration and VMware Horizon.
• Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing virtual desktop environments using VMware Horizon.
• Expertise in SCCM, MSA, tape drives, AD, and GPO.
• Strong knowledge of CIS benchmarks and experience implementing security best practices.
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript) for automation and task simplification.
• Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Backup Exec).

Certifications

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server
• Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC)
• CompTIA Security+

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Linux server administration (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) and Windows Server.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
