Job Description

As a Transportation In-charge, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient and timely transportation of goods, materials, and personnel. Your role involves coordinating logistics, maintaining a fleet of vehicles, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including drivers, suppliers, and internal teams, to optimize transportation processes and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Management:

  • Supervise and maintain a fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Schedule regular maintenance and repairs for all vehicles to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and implement strategies for fuel efficiency.

Route Planning and Optimization:

  • Develop and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Utilize route planning software and technology to enhance efficiency.
  • Adjust routes in response to changing conditions or unexpected events.

Team Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of transportation personnel, including drivers and support staff.
  • Conduct training sessions for drivers on safety, compliance, and efficient driving practices.
  • Manage driver schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.

Compliance and Regulations:

  • Stay informed about transportation regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to vehicle inspections, licenses, and permits.

Cost Control:

  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Negotiate contracts with transportation service providers and suppliers.

Risk Management:

Data Analysis and Reporting:
