Job Description

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer to join our team in the construction industry. The Purchasing Officer will play a key role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing within the construction sector, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet project requirements while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions, and establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
  • Review purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in accordance with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project needs and ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to orders.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and industry trends, and make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular supplier performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Stay informed about changes in market conditions, pricing, and regulatory requirements that may impact procurement activities.
