A tendering engineer is responsible for preparing and submitting tenders for construction projects. They work closely with other engineers, project managers, and clients to develop and refine technical and commercial proposals. Tendering engineers must have a strong understanding of the construction industry, as well as the procurement process.
Job Duties:
· Identify and evaluate potential tender opportunities
· Develop and refine technical and commercial proposals
· Attend clarification meetings with clients
· Prepare and submit tenders in accordance with company guidelines
· Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes
· Review and evaluate tenders from other companies
· Recommend the best tender to the client
· Provide support to the project team during the contract award and mobilization phases
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
· 3+ years of experience in the construction industry
· Strong understanding of the tendering process
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in a particular engineering discipline (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical)
· Experience in using construction software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
· Knowledge of procurement regulations and procedures
· Bilingual or multilingual skills
